Preparation
Many people are interested in doing something to document their life…how you see the world, why you’ve done the things you did, what your deepest values are and the things you’ve learned. But really doing it requires time and effort you may not have. We make it easy by
working with someone who has many suggestions and prompts to help you plan your autobiography or memoir, and keeps you on track.
Your personal historian is a retired nurse…a patient, understanding person who never judges or criticizes the content of your memories and thoughts. Your project is confidential and belongs only to you, so you alone decide who to share it with.
Pricing
Legacy Family Services is a local service here in Rapid City, SD. We have two goals:
* to personally assist individuals in leaving a meaningful heirloom for their loved ones;
* to offer this service at a price that is reasonable for most people.
You’ll want to take advantage of our free introductory meeting!
Then, If you wish to continue, we charge by the interview… each 2-hour interview with the historian is $40. That time frame can include guidance or actual recording, or both. The number of interviews is your choice. Many people choose to participate in 1-4 interviews.
If you choose to do recordings, you will ultimately be given your recordings either on CDs, or on a flash drive at no extra cost. Going further, transcription into text is $1.25 per audio minute. Editing services are $20 per hour. We can print your manuscript onto archival paper for 12 cents per sheet.
